AlySun is a singer ~songwriter~ songstress~ songcatcher who sings from the heart. She plays with live vocal loops, guitar, didjeridu and shaman drums. AlySun also sing and write for electronica duo beautyFools. She has been a featured solo artist with the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series since 2001. In her various musical adventures AlySun has shared the bill with the likes of James Brown, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, 10,000 Maniacs, Spearhead, Babatunde Olatunji (who named her AlySun) and many more. She has performed many times at the United Nations, singing at events with Muhammad Ali, Dr. Jane Goodall and Yolanda King, Martin Luther King’s eldest daughter. AlySun has also been the voices of cartoons and radio promotions nationally, including doing theme songs and voiceover work a full season of VH1's ILLustrated. AlySun has performed at festivals internationally, from the High Sierra Mountain Music Fest in Northern California to the Festival of Eternal Rhythms in Morocco. She holds a degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington and has worked for years in the fields of sound healing and Music Therapy. AlySun is also a member of the progressive, experimental duo known as beautyFools~making magic and beauty for the planet through the awesome power of music. She currently serves as the Program Manager for LIFEbeat's Hearts & Voices program, an award winning concert series in NYC that brings the healing power of live music to people living with HIV/AIDS.
